The clock to Stranger Things season 3 is officially ticking.

In a new teaser trailer released at 12:01 a.m., Netflix revealed that the third season of "Stranger Things" will premiere on July 4, 2019.

The announcement came in the form of a brief teaser, interspersing footage from a 1985 New Year's special with cryptic transmissions by way of a creepy computer display.

Just after the ball drops and the fireworks go off, the tagline "one summer can change everything" appears.

Main cast members Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, David Harbour, Sadie Sink and Winona Ryder will all return for the new season.

Now we indeed have an official release date of July 4th (Independence Day), 2019.

The series is created by brothers Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer, with Shawn Levy as executive producer. They want to deliver something bigger and better than what they did previous year.

Diehard fans may want to take note of some of the clues here to decipher later.

It's a good thing you will probably already be off for the Fourth of July. The show will still be under the direction of series creators Matt and Ross Duffer.
