Winter Storm to Arrive Late Tonight

How Winter Storm Eboni Could Make Return Holiday Travel Messy for Millions of Americans

The National Weather Service forecast warns of a slippery, possibly unsafe morning commute in the Granite State.

Forecasters posted a blizzard warning for parts of the Dakotas and Minnesota as a major winter storm delivered heavy snow and gusty winds to the region.

According to CNN, the system dumped more than 11 in. of rain across some areas of Louisiana and MS, where flash flood emergencies were issued December 27.

The National Weather Service says Nebraskans can expect rain, snow, sleet and freezing rain in the hours ahead.

The weather service forecast 8 to 13 inches of snow across northern, central and western Minnesota by the end of the work week. Reduced visibility due to blowing snow is likely Thursday into early Friday morning.

Christmas declared official holiday in Iraq
During the summons Christians were challenged to use the birth of Christ to promote peace and togetherness for a better world. Christian community members clad in new dresses attended church prayers as it was the biggest festival of the year for them.

In advance of the expected storms, several airlines are issuing waivers so travelers can avoid the bad weather - or, at the very least, extend their Christmas plans a few days. The system now is expected to move through the mid-Atlantic this weekend, bringing heavy rainfall and potentially bringing some cities to their wettest years on record.

A collision between a small bus and an SUV in Minnesota killed a 47-year-old woman on the bus and injured nine others Thursday.

"Snow with high winds and low visibility will make travel in this area unsafe if not impossible at times", Garrett said. Police said snowy weather and poor road conditions were factors in the crash.

The latest happened in central Minnesota's Crow Wing County where a pedestrian was struck on a road by a pickup with a plow blade.

Drivers saw whiteout conditions across the Midwest, which forced officials to close a number of roads, including portions of Interstate 80 in Nebraska.
