The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling certain types of cauliflower, red and green leaf lettuce due to possible E-coli contamination.

Almost 60 people have been reported ill from the current multistate E. coli outbreak, which primarily has been linked to romaine lettuce, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in an update posted last week. Family Farms, a farm in California, could be contaminated with E. coli bacteria.

The growing list of recalls is impacting some local restaurants.

Consumers with questions about the recall can call Adam Bros. Farms in Santa Barbara County tested positive for the bacterial strain, and the owners are co-operating with authorities.

'Filtered and treated water from the reservoir may have come in contact with the produce after it was harvested'.

If you have the suspect cauliflower in your refrigerator, return it to the store where you bought it or destroy it. Farming Inc. of Santa Maria California have been recalled. Cauliflower was sent to wholesalers in Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania, as well as to Tijuana, Mexico, and Canada.

The FDA asked producers and distributors of romaine lettuce to begin labeling their products with the harvest location and harvest date.

Red Leaf lettuce, also sold in bulk without a brand name ( carton Tag Numbers include 253-27267 331-18, 204-27267 331-18, 203-27267 331-18).
