MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski apologizes for homophobic comment

Mika Brzezinski

"Are the pathetic deflections that we just heard ... is that a patriot speaking, or a wannabe dictator's butt boy?".

"If it was a Conservative that said what "crazed" Mika Brzezinski stated on her show yesterday, using a certain awful term, that person would be banned permanently from television", Trump tweeted on Thursday. Khashoggi was a foe of the crown prince's.

Mika Brzezinski of "Morning Joe" fame made a tasteless joke about Secretary of State Mike Pompeo as possibly a "wanna dictator's butt-boy" during an MSNBC segment with Sen. To this point, Kilmeade asked Pompeo "we know the prince knows, right?" I'm dead serious, I'm asking.

Well and good. She should apologize.

"If it was a Conservative that said what "crazed" Mika Brzezinski stated on her show yesterday, using a certain disgusting term, that person would be banned permanently from television", Trump tweeted.

"I understand that Donald Trump doesn't care...but why doesn't Mike Pompeo care right now?" she said.

Her comment was condemned by everyone from NPR's media reporter David Folkenflik to U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grennell. He also praised Grenell for questioning Brzezinski's apology.

Kohli savours 'very special' victory over Australia
Cheteshwar Pujara's assured presence at number 3 is great news for a side which has two openers low on confidence. They have never won a series here and have tasted victory in only five matches in more than 70 years.

MSNBC apparently tried and failed to censor the poorly thought-out quip by briefly silencing Brzezinski's words. "Sexualizing gay people this way is created to control them & minimize our worth", he said.

Anderson provided a list of alternative words Brzezinski might have used to describe Pompeo's conduct towards Saudi Arabia.

"I should have said "water boy"... like for football teams or something like that".

It's not the first time Trump has taken shots directly at Brzezinski.

"I genuinely do not believe I wrote those hateful things", Reid told her viewers, adding, "The person I am now is not the person I was then".

While Anderson wrote he accepted Brzezinski's apologies, dozens of other Twitter users did not think her apology was satisfactory-some even called for the Morning Joe host to be fired. Last year, the president attacked her on Twitter, calling her "low I.Q. Crazy Mika" and claiming that she had recently had plastic surgery.
