Frank Warren and BBBC to lodge complaint over Wilder v Fury scorecards

Tyson Fury reveals mental illness and weight battle in long comeback to boxing

Showed good heart to get back up.

The respect is mutual, as is the way they feel about the 6-feet-6, 245-pound Joshua's reluctance to face Wilder.

He had earlier frustrated Wilder with his jab and a succession of accurate right hands, but the American's late attack salvaged his WBC belt on the scorecards.

The American didn't win more than four rounds (that is being generous), although in the ninth and 12th, he did knock Fury to the canvas.

Despite his view of the decision he indicated that a rematch could well be in Las Vegas rather a football ground in England by saying: 'I would have no problem coming back here.

In the champion's favour were the two knockdowns he managed against the challenger, which nonetheless should have been insufficient in helping him to a draw.

"I've spoken to Charlie Giles, president of the British Boxing Board of Control and they, along with us, will be writing to the WBC asking that they look at what's gone on there and to order the rematch", Warren said. That ain't a great thing, by the way, because I've had a very low time doing it.

One judge scored the bout in Wilder's favor 115-111, while the second judge scored the bout 114-110 for Fury, and the final judge scored the fight 113-113.

Even though Wilder made a throat-slashing gesture and mouthed "It's over", Fury beat the count and went back to work.

"I don't really have much use for it, I'm not interested in becoming a millionaire or a billionaire. Fair play to the referee, fantastic, one of the best I have ever experienced".

"At the end of the day that [a rematch] is down to Tyson, but from my perspective I'd love the rematch", he said. I was too hesitant. I wasn't hurt. I did not sit still, I was too hesitant, I started overthrowing the right hand.

Wilder landed just 71 of 430 punches thrown, or barely 17 percent. Fury used his twitchy movement and near-constant feints to disrupt the rhythm of Wilder, whose trademark looping punches rarely found their mark.

Fury's struggles with drugs, alcohol and mental health are well known.

"I thought I won the fight".

"It's an iconic comeback".

Fury's personal story was well-documented as he ballooned upwards of 400 pounds, fell into addiction of alcohol and drugs and almost succumbed to a dark depression in which he was resigned to killing himself through excess in order to numb the pain.

The fight attracted the celebrity attention expected in Hollywood from actors and athletes alike.

The Staples Center card also featured Jarrett Hurd retaining the IBF/WBA Super Welterweight Titles with a fourth-round knockout of Jason Welborn.
