Suspected mail bomber faces five charges in Miami court

Trump says he knows Sayoc supported him. — File

Authorities have not said whether the van seized in Florida was linked to Sayoc.

The man accused of sending package bombs to critics of President Trump is scheduled to appear before a judge Monday in Miami federal court.

Moore has his own interpretation of why Sayoc supports the U.S. President and why he allegedly mailed pipe bombs to Trump's political opponents.

On Friday President Trump decried the mail bombs as "terrorizing acts" and said whoever was responsible would be prosecuted to "the fullest extent of the law", the Post reported.

Over the weekend, Moore revealed a connection between the two: Cesar Sayoc, the man arrested by authorities last Friday in connection to the mail bombs, was actually filmed by Moore and his team at a Trump rally while they were working on Fahrenheit 11/9.

In 2002, he was arrested after Miami police said he threatened to bomb a power company, saying "it would be worse than September 11th".

Fingerprint and DNA evidence helped identify the suspect, officials said.

FBI Director Christopher A. Wray said that the bureau was still trying to determine if Sayoc's bombs were "functional" but noted that they contained "energetic material" that could be unsafe. His first arrest in the state was at age 29 for larceny.

Officers hauled away Sayoc's white van - its windows plastered with the pro-Trump stickers, American flags, and images of the Democratic figures.

Pentagon to send about 800 troops to US-Mexico border
Thousands of Central American migrants crossing Mexico toward the United States in a caravan have resumed their journey to US. . Meanwhile, President Trump seems to be looking for an excuse to declare martial law or send in troops to the border.

Steyer was the intended recipient of one of the more than a dozen pipe bombs that were sent to Trump critics.

Sayoc can either agree to be moved to NY voluntarily or he can force federal prosecutors to present enough evidence that he is the person who is wanted on the charges.

The packages turned up between Monday and Friday in New York, California and Washington.

And even as Sayoc was being detained, officials with Democratic Sen.

This frame grab from video provided by WPLG-TV shows Federal Bureau of Investigation agents escorting Cesar Sayoc, in sleeveless shirt, in Miramar, Fla., on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018.

Officials said they expect Sayoc will be moved to New York City swiftly where he will face indictment on multiple criminal charges.

Later Friday, Trump told a political rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, that the media is to blame for polarizing the country. "The media's constant unfair coverage ... and negative attacks only serve to drive people apart and to undermine healthy debate".

"For example, we've seen an effort by the media to use the sinister actions of one individual to score points against me and the Republican Party", he added, in an apparent reference to this week's pipe bomb suspect, who was a big fan of Trump.

But in a morning Twitter post before the arrest was announced, the president characterized the attempted bombings as an obstacle blocking Republican voters ahead of the midterms.
