Meghan Markle’s powerful and moving tribute to Diana

Prince Harry, Meghan expecting child in spring

The couple travelled to the city's Taronga Zoo where they opened the new Institute of Science and Learning before getting up close and personal to native animals including koalas.

The dignitaries also presented them with Akubras - traditional wide-brimmed Australian hats.

They take up to 21 days to craft, then there's around a five day wait for delivery.

Meghan said the koalas were "so, so sweet", while Harry reached out to pet one and asked about their diet and sleeping habits.

The couple, who announced on Monday they are expecting their first baby next spring, will also take in New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga on their first official trip outside the United Kingdom and Ireland as a married couple.

Meghan Markle's dad Thomas Markle Jnr has reacted the news of his daughter's pregnancy.

Interrogation gone wrong, rogue killers: What happened to Saudi journalist?
Heisbourg said a Saudi oil embargo would make USA shale oil producers "rub their hands" in glee. "This is not leadership". The Saudis will say the operation was carried out "without clearance" from the ruling royal family, CNN reports.

The couple is in the midst of a nine-day tour of Australia for the Invictus Games, an athletic competition for wounded military veterans that Harry founded.

The newlyweds revealed they're expecting their first child to arrive next spring.

"I was looking for you earlier and hoped you'd be here, it's so good to see you again", Harry told Daphne. The governor-general, who represents Queen Elizabeth II, Australia's head of state and Harry's grandmother, sent staff to hastily buy a toy kangaroo with a joey in its pouch and a tiny pair of Australian sheep skin boots for their pregnant guest.

They will "see first-hand the hardships local farmers are facing by visiting a local property".

The Duke and Duchess will learn about environmental challenges while in Wellington, visit a charity which supports children with parents in prison, and meet members of the public in Auckland and Rotura.

The newest royal baby will be seventh in line to the throne, behind Harry, who is sixth.
