Trevor Noah reacts to #JustBurnIt campaign: ‘Nike already has your money’

What did Jerry Jones say about Nike’s new ad campaign with Colin Kaepernick? | Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Donald Trump has hit out at Nike over its Just Do It ad campaign featuring Colin Kaepernick. Whether you agree with Colin Kaepernick's stance or not, the ad is meant to be about more than his opinion.

The Nike ad, recognizing the 30th anniversary of its slogan "Just Do It", is a close-up photograph of Kaepernick with two lines of text.

"I am sponsored by Nike", Funchess said. "By pursuing this approach, Nike is back in the public conversation - and, yes, they'll create some enemies (that's for sure) but they'll also reactivate their core base - and create true believers". But she did, he said.

"If people say your dreams are insane, if they laugh at what people think you can do, good", Kaepernick says in the ad as a skateboarder aces a stunt.

The NFL quarterback sparked controversy in 2016 when he began kneeling during the national anthem to raise awareness about racial injustice.

Williams was also questioned about the role of athletes in social activism and responded: "I don't think athletes have a role to play". He threatened Nike in a tweet: "Our Soundman just cut the Nike swoosh off his socks".

The management of a Colorado Springs sporting goods store has made a decision to stop selling Nike merchandise after the company featured Colin Kaepernick in a new marketing campaign, KRDO reports. "We believe Colin is one of the most inspirational athletes of this generation, who has leveraged the power of sport to help move the world forward", Gino Fisanotti, Nike's vice president of brand for North America, told ESPN.

Obama less combative in California speech
Obama also delivered a message via a NowThis video released Saturday urging young people to get out and vote. He said immigrants are "much more moderate in their views", he said, leading them to register Democratic.

The NFL released a statement Tuesday saying the issues raised by Kaepernick "deserve our attention and action".

"Colin Kaepernick drew our collective attention to the problem of continued racial injustice in America", said former Central Intelligence Agency director John Brennan on Twitter.

But Nike's ad "wades into different water", Grier said. Kaepernick is suing team owners for allegedly colluding to keep him out of the NFL.

Some Kaepernick critics took that to mean sacrificing their Nike products.

The two-minute ad features clips of iconic athletes such as tennis player Serena Williams, basketball star LeBron James and soccer player Megan Rapinoe.

"Nike is free to campaign as it sees fit, as the College is free, and honor-bound by its mission and goals, to ensure that it respects our country and those who truly served and sacrificed", said Marci Linson, the school's vice-president for patriotic activities and dean of admissions. Kaepernick said he would kneel instead of taking a full seat to protest police brutality and the police-involved killings of unarmed black men.
