He predicted there will be mass boycott of the brand and said Nike's stock prices would immediately drop.

Critics have burned Nike trainers and clothing in protest at the decision to use Kaepernick in the campaign.

The Kaepernick saga will continue so long as he doesn't have a job within the National Football League, and the controversial nature of talking about him will continue as well.

Trevor told viewers of The Daily Show on Tuesday he was surprised by the form of protest.

On Monday and Tuesday, the hashtag #BoycottNike was trending on social media, and posts and videos showed people burning Nike products in protest of the company's support for Kaepernick.

ESPN reports that even though Nike hadn't used Kaepernick in any promotions for two years, the company had been paying him all along and looking for the right opportunity to bring him back into the public eye. Rich, who Donald Trump selected as the victor of the 2011 season of "The Celebrity Apprentice, " posted a picture of the Nike swoosh that had been removed from a pair of socks.

She added of his activism in general: "I think everyone has a choice to do what they choose to do".

After Nike unveiled the campaign, Williams tweeted that she was "especially proud to be a part of the Nike family". "They pay a lot of rent", he said. This is offensive to them and to me.

"As much as I disagree with the Colin Kaepernick endorsement, in another way - I mean, I wouldn't have done it", he said. "There's plenty of other athletes that stand up for many great causes that do it in more, better ways if you will", said Ted Gaylord, who lives in Turlock.

The NFL responded to the ad in a statement on Twitter, saying, "the social justice issues that Colin and other professional athletes have raised deserve our attention and action".

The score of supports who are vocally standing behind Nike and Kaepernick's politically charged team-up also includes Kobe Bryant, Russell Crowe, House of Cards star Michael Kelly, Common, and many others.
