No-Confidence Motion in Lok Sabha: Rahul Gandhi misquotes unemployment figures

Jay Panda's resignation accepted: Lok Sabha Speaker

Congress President Rahul Gandhi created history of sorts when he hugged Prime Minister Narendra Modi after completing his speech on the No-Confidence motion in the Lok Sabha against the Narendra Modi led NDA government. "That is how we have come here", Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in what was seen as his indirect attack on Rahul Gandhi. Tariq Anwar of NCP alleged that the Modi government had failed to fulfil promises made to the people.

Opposition parties are trying to band together to take on the BJP and Mr Modi who, along with BJP president Amit Shah, has helmed a series of state election wins in the past four years.

The Prime Minister showcased the achievements of the government-electrification of 18,000 villages, healthcare for all, LPG for the poor, initiatives for farmers and the flagship Goods and Services Tax. We have been working with "Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' mantra", he said.

Continuing his tirade, Gandhi said he had asked the French president about the Indian government's claim that it can not share the price details due to a secrecy pact between India and France. Due to one careless allegation in the House on Rafale, both nations had to release statements.

On Gandhi's allegations on the Rafale aircraft deal, he said "we must abstain from making childish statements on sensitive issues".

Iran Files Complaint to UN Justice Court Against US New Sanctions
And not that you want to hurt anybody, but that regime wouldn't let the people know that we are behind them 100 percent. Further sanctions on oil and transactions with Iran's central bank will come into effect November 6.

Modi rejected the opposition charge and said the government was taking steps to protect all sections of the society.

Shashi Tharoor called Rahul Gandhi's speech as astonishing and game changing.

Earlier, raking up the Rafale deal, Rahul had called the PM "not a chowkidar, but a bhagidar" (not a sentinel, but a partner of profiteering industrialists).

"Arrogance is behind the no confidence motion", Modi said in his reply and hit out at the Congress, saying this is not the floor test of the government but a "force" test of the main opposition party and its so-called allies.

A day after the Central government defeated no-confidence motion in the Lok Sabha, the Congress chief today reviewed the parliamentary process in a tweet today. He claimed that due to demonetisation, 25 lakh jobs were "wiped out" and in return the government could detect just Rs 16,000 crore in black money. So, this discussion will not be in any way fruitful for the people of Odisha. Soon after the announcement, all BJD MPs walked out of the lower House while the discussion on the Motion picked up momentum. As per the official data made public by the Chinese government, the unemployment rate in the country stood at 3.9 per cent compared to India's 7.1 per cent during 2017. "BJP workers unhappy with their own govt", Yadav quipped. "We have been raising the issues for the past 14 years and we saw no point in speaking for 15 minutes today". Soon after his speech in the Lok Sabha during the no-confidence motion debate on Friday, #BhookampAaGaya started trending on Twitter. So we can not support TDP, BJP or even the Congress.
