United States to receive American soldiers remains in coming weeks: Mike Pompeo

Trump touts trust with Kim in TV interview

President Donald Trump said Tuesday there is no hurry to denuclearize North Korea under his accord with Kim Jong Un - a shift in tone from when the U.S. leader said the process would start very soon.

The sanctions are remaining. "Big benefits and exciting future for North Korea at end of process!". He said he misspoke when he dismissed allegations from the USA intelligence community, stating he accepted the conclusions as he tried to quell a firestorm over his press conference with Putin.

West said of Mr Trump: "You don't have to agree with trump but the mob can't make me not love him".

But he also said that the process would likely be longer "than anybody would like" during a press conference in the United Kingdom last week.

Discussions continue and are "going very, very well", Trump said. We have no rush for speed. It may take some time to get where we need to go. "We have no speed limit", the U.S. president told reporters. But the relationships are very good.

N Korea, US hold talks on war dead repatriation
A UNC official said he had no information to confirm the report, though preparations had been made for Sunday's talks. The two Koreas remain in a technical state of war since their 1950-53 conflict ended in a truce, not a peace treaty.

President Trump did not specify what sort of help he expects from Moscow, but his expectations might be based more on a clear understanding of Russian objectives than Trump's personal contact with Putin.

During the summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore in June, Trump insisted that Pyongyang should start the process "very quickly", and that "a lot of people" would be sent to North Korea to verify it.

Following the Sunday meeting, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement that the talks led by Minihan were "productive and cooperative and resulted in firm commitments".

Trump announced after the June summit that Kim had agreed to return the remains of "thousands and thousands" of Americans killed in the Korean War, but no remains have been handed over since then, raising further questions about North Korean intentions.

The US President said he'd enlisted Mr Putin's support for the rogue state's denuclearisation during the pair's controversial summit. The gathering came after Pyongyang demolished tunnels leading to its underground nuclear testing site.
