World Emoji Day 2018 New emojis

Apple is celebrating World Emoji Day by revealing several new emoji that will be coming to Apple devices later this year.

You can vote for your favourite emoji in categories including Best New Emoji, Most Anticipated Emoji, Excellence in Emoji Use and which emoji best represents 2018 as Emoji of the Year.

"As always, some of the most vocal requests for new emojis are about representation, and this update delivers some of the most common requests".

We expect the new emoji to arrive alongside iOS 12, macOS Mojave, and watchOS 5 in September.

It's World Emoji Day, and Apple is marking the occasion by swapping its executive team for a Memoji line-up. A Guinness World Record was attempted in Dubai on 17 July a year ago for the 'Largest gathering of people dressed as Emojis'. It is good to know Apple has not forgotten the basic emojis in iPhone and iPad keyboards that users love to add to conversations. In fact, they're intended for users to recreate themselves in emoji form.

Other emoji that have been added include a sports emoji for softball, a superhero emoji, and emoji for symbols such as the nazar amulet and the infinity symbol. Every year since 2014, July 17 is celebrated as the World Emoji Day. It does, though, demonstrate the range of customization you can expect from the new emojis.

The soon-to-be-released update includes several new emoji types, most notably two new superheroes.
