Galaxy Note 9 official press render leaked

Galaxy Note 9 official press render leaked

That news comes from an unnamed source, speaking to the Wall Street Journal.

The image also highlights that the Galaxy Note 9 will not ditch the 3.5mm audio jack and will sport a dual rear camera setup just like the a year ago launched Galaxy Note 8.

The phone will reportedly have a 7-inch display and will fold in half like a wallet. This means that Samsung is not going all near bezel-less display as other smartphone players in the market. In another patent, Samsung showed how the home interface would automatically spread across two screens when the phone is folded. It's widely expected that the phone will be called the Galaxy X.

Given the August 9th date on the lock screen in the render, it looks like this 2018 Tab A will be announced alongside the Note9 at Samsung Unpacked in NYC.

As exciting as the concept of a folding phone may be, it's worth noting that we've been discussing this device since 2016. From all sides, the phone's frame is thicker than the one even on last year's Note 8 and the Samsung-signature Edge design curve is much, much less pronounced.

The render shows us the front and the back of the device confirming previous reports that Samsung has done minor changes to the design of the device.

Samsung is believed to have showed off a folding phone prototype to major U.S. and European mobile carriers in private meetings at CES earlier this year. Given that this will be a flagship phones, it's nearly a guarantee that they will be packing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 (or whatever will be Qualcomm's flagship chipset for 2019), and also the latest Exynos chipset which we imagine Samsung could either announce later this year or early next year. This aligns with a similar report we wrote up in mid-June.
