Man arrested in connection with Donald Trump paragliding protest at Turnberry resort

Bad blood over golf course stalks Trump's Scotland trip

Trump is staying at one of his luxury golf resorts in Turnberry, southwest of Glasgow, in a private part of the trip before heading for a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

Describing golf as "my primary form of exercise", Trump tweeted: "The weather is lovely, and this place is incredible!" He will be holding meetings and playing golf before setting off to meet Vladimir Putin on Monday in Helsinki.

Trump questioned why Barack Obama had not acted on claims of Russian meddling if the Federal Bureau of Investigation had informed the then president ahead of the 2016 election. He was also seen posing for photos. A line of police officers separated them from the course. Snipers were also perched atop a nearby tower overlooking the vast property.

The 20-foot (6-meter) tall balloon has become a symbol of the protests against the USA president's first official visit to Britain.

Scottish police say they have arrested a man in connection with a Greenpeace protest that breached a no-fly security zone and flew a banner close to the golf resort where U.S. President Donald Trump was staying.

The glider carried a banner reading "Trump: Well Below Par" to protest his environmental and immigration policies.

A major anti-Trump rally is planned in Edinburgh on Saturday after a mass protest in London Friday that organisers said drew more than 250,000 people.

But Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard called on the billionaire tycoon to "rethink your whole political approach". "The horrific scenes at the Mexican border are just the latest example of his repudiation of decent human values". Picture: PA Trump depicted as an orange baby.

Trump has spent the weeklong trip wreaking havoc in Europe, first at a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels where he questioned the value of the decades-old alliance, and later in Britain, where he faced fallout from a stunning newspaper interview in which he undermined British Prime Minister Theresa May at an especially vulnerable time.

Trump blamed former President Barack Obama for failing to stop a dozen Russian military intelligence officers from hacking into emails belonging to the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic Party.

They chanted "Trump is a racist!" "I will absolutely bring that up", Trump told reporters.

"A famous golf course owner from America who, I think, has now turned his hand to politics, made a decision to take the Scottish government to court to try to block these wind turbines", she told reporters. "I did it. You got me, '" Trump said Friday, referring to Putin.

Trump declared "I am the evidence" when Scottish lawmakers asked him to back up his assertion that the wind farm would "destroy the financial wellbeing of Scotland". And John McCain, a leading Republican senator and Trump critic, said Trump must hold Putin accountable or not proceed with the meeting.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told journalists traveling with him that he is "confident" the meeting "will put America in a better place".

In an uproarious trip to Europe, Trump harangued members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation military alliance, scolded Germany for its dependence on Russian energy and shocked Britain by publicly criticising Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit strategy.
