Chillal, a Guinness World Record holder, had the longest fingernails in the world, not having cut them since 1952.
When Chillal decided he was finally able to put his spite to rest and clip his nails, he reached out to the Ripley's Believe It Or Not! franchise.
Speaking through an interpreter, Chillal says his nails, which collectively reached a length of 29 feet, 10 inches, made him something of a celebrity. His thumbnail, the longest of the set, measures an incredible 197.8cm (77.8ins).
"After 66 years of growth, record-breaker Shridhar Chillal from India has cut off his enormous fingernails - which will now go on display at @ripleysbelieveitornot in Times Square, New York, USA", the post said.
Since being shared yesterday, the video has collected over 1.3 lakh views and hundreds of comments. While he may have cut his fingernails, his nails will be forever memorialised inside Ripley's Believe It or Not!
From nails the man escaped at the age of 82. Chillal constantly has his hand in this bag so the nails do not get ruined.
