Ronaldo joins Juventus for 112 million euros

Ronaldo signs for Juventus from Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo's decision to end a nine-year Real Madrid stay to sign for Juventus is the right move, according to Pele.

In his nine years with Real Madrid, Ronaldo became the Spanish club 's leading goal scorer of all time, netting 451 goals in 438 appearances.

In a letter posted on the Real website, the five-time Ballon d'Or victor said his time in the Spanish capital, during which he became their record goalscorer, had been one of the happiest in his life.

Reports in the Spanish media suggested that Liverpool FC could spend a club transfer record fee on the Real Madrid playmaker to fill Philippe Coutinho's void at the Anfield outfit.

'The hunger he has, the way he wants to be the best, is what drags him forward nearly as much as his undoubtable quality'.

"For Real Madrid, Cristiano Ronaldo will always be one of its greatest symbols and a unique reference for the generations to come", European champions Real said, adding that Ronaldo had asked to be transferred.

USA policy "actually interferes with the process of economic globalisation" and "damages the world economic order", charged Li. China said it is "shocked" after the U.S. announced plans for fresh tariffs, escalating a trade war between the two countries.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously had reported that Ronaldo has agreed to join Juventus in a staggering £88m deal after club's President Andrea Agnelli traveled to Greece to convince him to join the Turin side. "Congratulations to Juventus for achieving such a great objective".

Juventus hasn't won a UEFA Champions League trophy (the equivalent of a World Cup trophy for club soccer) since 1996.

After the exit of Portugal at the 2018 FIFA World Cup where they were sent out in the round of 16 stages, Ronaldo took his family to Greece for holiday to relax before the new season kicks off. "My respect and gratitude goes out to them all".

The Italian giants announced the signing of the 33-year-old forward from Los Blancos on Tuesday following weeks of speculation that the player was unhappy in Spain.

Juve fans already have their Ronaldo shirts.

Other big names in the frame are Kylian Mbappe, who is also at PSG, and Premier League stars including Harry Kane of Spurs and Eden Hazard of Chelsea.
