Ivanka tells Trump the coverage of family separation immigration 'looks bad'

New GOP plan: Hold kids longer at border — but with parents

Trump said that he would sign the executive order before he left for Minnesota later today.

Amid an outcry in the U.S. over the policy, President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to keep families together.

And of course, the obligatory "witch hunt" tweet: "I can't think of something more concerning than a law enforcement officer suggesting that their going to use their powers to affect an election!"

While the US President was vague in his pledge to "sign something", various US media reported an executive order had been drafted by Justice and Homeland Security to temporarily stop the controversial practice. "Let's be clear that Trump is making a crisis of his own creation worse", said Karen Tumlin, director of legal strategy at the National Immigration Law Center, in a press call on Wednesday. "Go for it! WIN!"

This meeting marks Mr. Trump's second meeting with Congress this week, following his meeting with House GOP members Tuesday, in the midst of a backlash over the separation of immigrant children from their parents who enter the country illegally through the southern border.

House Speaker Paul Ryan told reporters that one of the bills would increase funding to the Department of Homeland Security to source housing and care for families during criminal proceedings against parents.

Graham said illegal immigration has become a "big, massive mess" which previous presidents and Congress have not solved.

Raonic gained the upperhand when he was able to steal a point to gain a 3-1 lead in that tiebreak. The Canadian hammered 19 aces to eliminate defending champion Lucas Pouille 6-4, 7-6 (7/3).

May said Wednesday that images of children in cages were "deeply disturbing". "Those images affect everybody, but i have to say we have a double standard".

"We're going to have strong, very strong borders, but we're going to keep the families together", said Trump who said he didn't like the "sight" or "feeling" of children separated from their parents. At the same time, we are keeping a very powerful border and it continues to be a zero tolerance.

On Monday, the ProPublica website published an audio clip of children many of crying so hard that it sounded as if they could "barely breathe".

Republican leaders in the House are trying to put together an immigration bill that would keep immigrant children in detention indefinitely, but housed with their parents.

In the face of bipartisan blowback, administration officials said their hands were tied. "Republicans want security. But I am working on something - it never ends!" he wrote.

The president's "zero tolerance" immigration policy announced in May mandated universal prosecution of adults who enter the country illegally.
