Grandmother gets pardon after Kardashian meets Trump

Trump commutes Alice Johnson’s sentence after meeting Kardashian-West

The fiance of George Papadopoulos, the former Trump campaign adviser who pleaded guilty to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about Russian "dirt" on Hillary Clinton, has recently appeared on Fox News to ask Trump to pardon Papadopoulos. No mother should have to bury her child. Johnson was convicted in 1996 for her involvement in a multimillion-dollar cocaine ring.

President Barack Obama did not intervene in the case during his eight years in office because the Justice Department recommended denying Johnson's request for a commutation. The reasons are unclear.

Johnson, 63, was serving a life sentence for a nonviolent drug offense.

After reuniting with her family, Johnson said, she plans to spend her time advocating for changes in the prison system.

Kanye West recently raised eyebrows after tweeting about his "love" for Trump and describing him as a "brother" with whom he shared "dragon energy".

Another attorney, Brittany K. Barnett, said earlier that Johnson feels overwhelmed with emotion and like she's been "resurrected from the dead".

The reality star and entrepreneur tweeted in November that she consulted her legal team about Cyntoia Brown, a 29-year-old woman who was arrested for killing a man who sexually abused her when she was a teenage victim of trafficking.

According to data from the Bureau of Prisons released in January, more than 1,500 people in federal prisons are now serving life without parole for drug offenses.

Travel Tip: Hurricane Season 2018
Hurricane Irma ripped through the state in late September and was blamed for widespread power outages and at least 84 deaths. One local retailer predicts only a modest increase in shoppers at his store because of the tax-holiday.

"Ms. Johnson has accepted responsibility for her past behavior and has been a model prisoner over the past two decades".

"[Kim Kardashian is] an wonderful person, and I'll be grateful for what she's done".

The reality star also revealed that she had the opportunity to personally give Johnson the news. "I'll do whatever it takes to get her out".

Since October, Kardashian was one of Johnson's most public champions, and has worked with her lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, alongside Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, to meet with the president.

Mr. Trump also pardoned former Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio for contempt of court, Kristian Mark Saucier for unauthorized retention of defense information, Lewis "Scooter" Libby for obstruction of justice and perjury and boxing legend Jack Johnson for transporting a white woman across state lines.

In an exclusive interview with Mic, Kardashian West stated that Johnson receiving life without the possibility of parole for a first-time nonviolent offense was unacceptable.

On May 30, Johnson spent another birthday in prison while West went to the White House to advocate for her release. It said that Johnson's warden, case manager and vocational training instructor had written letters in support.

In a track on new album Ye, West refers to the row between the pair, with lyrics: "My wife callin", screamin", say "we "bout to lose it all"/Had to calm her down "cause she couldn't breathe".
