Fred's move to Manchester United receives Brazilian legend Rivaldo's seal of approval

Fred was spotted arriving for medical at Carrington on Monday

Manchester United announced that they had agreed a deal to bring the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder to Old Trafford as they began their summer recruitment drive.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has given his predictions for the World Cup group stage.

United finished second in the Premier League behind City but were a whopping 19 points behind their fierce rivals.

Matic was a cemented fixture in Mourinho's plans throughout the whole of his debut season at Manchester United and made 48 appearances - the second most after Romelu Lukaku.

The Brazilian, who is now in England with the rest of his global teammates, was spotted at the training ground, with the fee rumoured to be around £52.5m agreed with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Gaza Mortar Hits Israeli Kindergarten Amid Largest Artillery Barrage Since 2014
Hamas' decision to stop the attacks suggests it means to avoid another war, one that might well end its control of Gaza . Israel holds Hamas responsible for all violence emanating from the coastal enclave, as it has ruled Gaza since 2007.

Fred made his worldwide debut for Brazil in 2014 under Dunga and was called up for the 2015 Copa America following an injury to defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo.

Fred was born in Belo Horizonte and moved to Europe in 2013 from Brazilian club Internacional.

"He is a wonderful player", Rivaldo, who was part of Brazil's World Cup winning team in 2002, told reporters. Fred is a supremely talented player that is an all-round central midfield lynchpin that will add more solidity and mobility to a midfield that sometimes struggled with teams that sat back in huge numbers. However, FIFA extended the punishment to a worldwide ban in 2016 which ruled him out for four months.

Fred is really excited to join the Mancunian club after having being Jose Mourinho's prime target for quite a while.
