Novak Djokovic reveals shocking news after French Open loss

Eyeing his first quarterfinal appearance at the French Open, Verdasco is set to take on either Serbia's Novak Djokovic or Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain. The pair were evenly matched until Verdasco edged ahead in the ensuing tie-break.

"Just a pity that I couldn't capitalise on the chances in the 4-1 in the fourth set and some break points".

Zverev, considered among a select few capable of dethroning defending champion and French Open king Rafael Nadal, had to do it the hard way as he was on the right side of a 6-2, 3-6, 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 scoreline.

19th seed Kei Nishikori triumphed in straight sets against Frenchman Gilles Simon by 6-3 6-1 6-3 in nearly half the time of two hours and one minute.

His opponent, however, was the stronger in an epic fourth-set tiebreak, prevailing 6-3 7-6 (4) 1-6 7-6 (11) on his fourth match point after more than three hours of high-octane tennis.

"Well, I'm young, so I might as well stay on court, get some practice and entertain you guys", smiled Zverev, who is bidding to become the first German man to win the French Open since 1937.

The matches between David Goffin and Gael Monfils, and Lucas Pouille and Karen Khachanov, were suspended due to poor weather.

"For me, it's the first time semi-final grand slam".

"I knew I'm not going to win the match".

Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman al-Sheikh was named as minister of Islamic affairs, call and guidance. A bloody military assault dislodged them two weeks later, leaving scores dead on both sides.

"I don't know if I'm going to play on grass", Djokovic told a media conference room minutes after walking off court. There were moments in that tiebreak when it felt like Djokovic would force the final set and then there was a weird moment, when Djokovic skied the ball when he could have taken the set.

"The best moment of my life", Cecchinato said.

Djokovic, who lifted the title at Roland Garros in 2016, had numerous opportunities to level the match during the fourth set.

Djokovic, seeded 20th, won 6-3 6-4 6-2 against 30th seed Verdasco.

Seeded 20th after a well-documented slump, Djokovic blunted Verdasco's explosive firepower with his signature counter-punching to book an unlikely last-eight date with Marco Cecchinato.

'And the one that won deserved to win the match, and that was Marco today.

But what looked like being a long evening for the 12-times Grand Slam champion ended up being a reasonably comfortable one as he generally called the shots.

The 25-year-old, who had never won a Grand Slam match in his career before Roland Garros, goes on to face Austrian seventh seed Thiem for a place in Sunday's final.

"He's one of the fittest guys on tour", Thiem said, "and even for him, it's maybe even a little bit too tough to play three five-setters".
