On Could 14, the White Home introduced that Melania Trump underwent a medical process to deal with a benign kidney situation.

Will the real Melania Trump please stand up?

Stephanie Grisham, the first lady's director of communications, told ABC News that she was "doing really well" and has been involved in several internal meetings with staff regarding initiatives and other long-term planning for events such as the congressional picnic and Fourth of July.

"I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I'm doing".

Some were convinced that the operation was not without consequences, while others believed that the reason for the long outstay Melania, in her hard relationship with her husband.

In a tweet storm on Friday, Black wrote: "I've been obsessing a bit over Melania's disappearance - and that's what it is". FLOTUS has tweeted a few times since, thanking doctors and offering her condolences after the Santa Fe school shooting.

On the first couple's last day in Sicily before jetting back to Washington, they stopped at the U.S. naval air base in Sigonella, Sicily, where the first lady gave brief remarks to troops prior to the President taking the podium.

"Not that this will deter the conspiracy theorists, but I saw the First Lady walking with her aides in the West Wing yesterday afternoon", CNBC's Eamon Javers tweeted on Wednesday. I wouldn't characterise it as a long absence.

Presidential officials said Melania, 48, would instead be staying at the White House in Washington DC this weekend.

Reporters turned to look at the spot he indicated, but there was no sign of the first lady. "She just looked so attractive".

He added, "My question: why is the press being so quiet about this and how does it reflect on their attitude towards Melania in general?"
