Trump tweets he wishes he picked someone other than Sessions for AG

President Trump thinks Mueller’s team is ‘meddling’ in midterm elections

On Fox News this morning, former Congressman Jason Chaffetz went on a tear against Attorney General Jeff Sessions following last night's report about a confrontation between him and the President over his Russian Federation recusal.

Mr. Trump's tweet quoted Rep. Trey Gowdy, South Carolina Republican, who was interviewed on "CBS This Morning" earlier on Wednesday.

A senior House Republican briefed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on its Russian Federation probe is disputing President Donald Trump's allegation that the agency spied on his 2016 campaign for political purposes.

Gowdy said Trump should be "heartened" that top Justice Department officials are all his own appointees.

He does think that the Federal Bureau of Investigation should have informed the Trump campaign that it was using an informant to gather information.

Trump and his attorney general's relationship has suffered greatly since Sessions' decision to recuse himself. Just last week, Trump tweeted a quote from Napolitano apparently delivered on Fox News: "It's clear that they had eyes and ears all over the Trump Campaign", Trump quoted Napolitano as saying.

And on Tuesday, Gowdy told Fox News that the Federal Bureau of Investigation acted appropriately, on the heels of a high-level briefing last week on the matter.

Paris ‘spider-man’ to be granted French citizenship
French President Emmanuel Macron met with Mamoudou Gassama , who has been nicknamed "Spider-Man" because of his heroic feat. But it turns out the child's father is now in very hot water over what he was doing at the time of the rescue.

"He's really the flawless person to talk to about this, because he's seen a lot of things that the rest of us have not see", Napolitano said of Gowdy.

"I am even more convinced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got, and that it has nothing to do with Donald Trump", Gowdy said.

Should the special counsel interview Mr. Trump, it is likely to be an area where Mueller's team wants to probe, but Mr. Trump's attorneys have long argued that Article 2 powers of the Constitution invest in the chief executive broad powers - enough, for instance, to allow Mr. Trump's insults and even to tell a recused attorney general that he should keep an eye on the Russian Federation investigation by keeping it within the Justice Department.

"I know you want to talk about the Obama administration, we're talking about the Trump administration", Camerota shot back. That decision by Sessions, as well as Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey, helped lead the way to the appointment of Mueller as special counsel.

To be sure, however, Mueller's office has filed criminal charges against a number of people, including Trump's former campaign chairman, deputy campaign chairman, national security adviser and others.

A spokeswoman later confirmed to NPR the two men had never met, spoken or "communicated".
