Roseanne Barr breaks Twitter silence following series cancellation

Roseanne Barr apologizes for Twitter post blasted as 'racist'

Roseanne has since gone on to post a string of tweets, urging her supporters not to boycott ABC in the wake of the incident, suggesting she was being "attacked and belittled" more than other stars who have "said worse" in the past and, again, suggesting Ambien contributed to the posts. She has since apologized, but soon after, her ABC show was canceled and she was dropped by her agency.

ICM Partners said in a statement Tuesday that Barr's tweet was "disgraceful", "unacceptable" and "antithetical to our core values". The revival of "Roseanne" received good ratings and was recently renewed for a second season.

The outspoken conservative Trump supporter actress has been busy on Twitter, mainly retweeting messages in support of her. That made the show popular with conservative viewers, and Trump himself suggested the character's backing had a lot to do with the show's success.

Barr, 65, has repeatedly used Twitter as a platform for her political views, including her distaste for the Clinton family. She later apologized for the racist tweet.

Ms. Jarrett's name came up in response to Twitter commentary that raised her name in relation to an Obama conspiracy theory.

President Donald Trump also responded on Twitter Wednesday, saying: "Bob Iger of ABC called Valerie Jarrett to let her know that "ABC does not tolerate comments like those" made by Roseanne Barr".

"I honestly thought she was Jewish and Persian-ignorant of me for sure, but...i did.", she said. "Forgive me-my joke was in bad taste", she said.

Exit polls in Ireland suggest 'landslide' victory for legalizing abortion
Campaigning was not allowed on Friday, but Dublin was still filled with signs and banners urging citizens to vote "yes" or "no". The consequent prohibition on abortion was partly lifted in 2013 for cases where the mother's life was in danger.

"Roseanne's recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show".

"You throw me under the bus. nice!" she said in a tweet directed at Fishman. "I'm anxious about the people out there who don't have a circle of friends and followers who come right to their defence".

Barr was quickly condemned. African-American comedian Wanda Sykes, a consulting producer on the comedy, announced Tuesday she would not be returning to the show.

Disney's CEO added, "There was only one thing to do here and that was the right thing". ABC sources told CNN that advertisers were not a factor in the decision to end Roseanne. It's time for us to stop playing around with soft words by saying, 'Oh, well they're saying insensitive things.' No, it's racist!

The fallout from the show's cancellation also hit its lucrative syndication market as Viacom said it would pull reruns of the 1990s Roseanne episodes from its Paramount, TV Land and CMT cable networks.

ABC television group and ABC News are both owned by Disney. In late March, the network renewed the show for another season.

"It was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible", Barr said in a tweet, which is no longer available. "What changed, ABC? Because Roseanne has been writing racist tweets since forever". "[Guys] I did something unforgiveable so do not defend me". A racist one. ABC made a choice.
