Judge orders man to move out of parents' house

Michael Rotondo eviction

It's time for a 30-year-old man to move out of his parents' home, an upstate NY judge ruled Tuesday.

The judge said that's not true, pointing to an appellate court decision ruling, and asked the parents' lawyer to come up with an eviction order that Greenwood could sign.

Mark and Christina Rotondo of Camillus, N.Y., near Syracuse, had brought the court case forward after their son ignored several eviction letters, some of which offered money.

During the hearing on Tuesday, Michael represented himself and cited the case of Kosa v. Legg: "that there is 'Common law requirement of six-month notice to quit before tenant may be removed through ejectment action".

Michael called the judgment "outrageous" and indicated that he intends to appeal.

This month, a study by real estate data group Zillow said an estimated 22.5 per cent - or 12 million - American adults between the ages of 24 and 36 are living at home with their parents, a sharp rise from 2005's 13 per cent. "On the advice of our lawyer we have made a decision to grant you up to thirty (30) days from the date shown above to remove your possessions and vacate the premises", his parents wrote on February 13.

They became popular in the 1950s through 1970s with the discovery of the negative health impacts of saturated fatty acids. Officials believe that their goal can be achieved in five years, as work is already well advanced in several countries.

Most parents are living the life of "empty nesters" by the time their children reach 30, but one USA couple had to go to court to give their son that extra little push. "I mean, it seems to me like I should be provided with like 30 days or so, because generally you get 30 days.to vacate the premises", Rotondo said.

"You have 14 days to vacate".

On Tuesday, a judge ruled in the parents' favor and ordered Michael Rotondo to leave after having a room for eight years without paying any rent. "You need the money and will have no place for the stuff".

The truth, Rotondo told reporters after the proceedings, is that he isn't ready to move out of his parents' home. "So I'm expecting something like that".

"I don't want to live there anymore", Michael Rotondo said Wednesday on CNN.

In a redacted filing, Michael said he runs his own "successful" business, calling it "the overwhelmingly superior choice for the [his] economic well being over the working of a full-time job".
