Solano prosecutor says suspected abuse of children inflicted 'for sadistic purposes'

Father Allegedly Abused And Tortured His 10 Kids In Filthy California Home

Police said they responded on March 31 to a report of a missing 12-year-old child in the 2200 block of Fieldstone Court.

When law enforcement officers came to the house of the parents of the missing child, they found another 9 children from 4 months to 11 years, who were living in squalid, unsanitary conditions.

Rogers was arrested and booked that day into the Solano County Jail on one count of child endangerment, according to Sharon Henry, chief deputy district attorney in the Solano County district attorney's office.

Rogers and Allen now face allegations of child neglect, torture and abuse after the children told investigators they suffered puncture wounds, burns and bruising as well as injuries consistent with being shot by pellet guns or BB guns. The investigation revealed a long and continuous history of severe physical and emotional abuse of the children.

The 10 children were placed in protective custody by Solano County Child Welfare Services. He was booked in the Solano County Jail on nine counts of felony torture and six counts of felony child abuse.

Henry expects "appropriate charges" to be added in the coming days to the case against the children's mother, Ina Rogers, 30, who now faces a misdemeanor count of child endangerment.

The mother, Ina Rogers, 30, was arrested and charged with 10 felony charges of child neglect.

"I strive and I pride myself on being a good parent to my children", Rogers told CNN affiliate KGO/KTXL. She felt she was being judged for having so many children and having chosen to home-school them. "But absolutely not. My husband is an incredible person".

Aleida Quartman, 23, who said she works with Rogers, said she spoiled her children and the messy house was just life with children, cats, a dog and fish. "And so I've had many people question my right to parent, and I just feel like this whole situation was exploded", Rogers said, according to ABC News.

The children did not require medical attention when they were removed from the home.

Authorities suspect the abuse dates back to 2014.

"There is not any damaged bones, there is no such thing as a main scars, nothing", Rogers informed reporters in entrance of her home. "My kids get bumped and bruised and scratched because they're kids but that's it".

Rogers said the home's condition was a result of her "tearing up" the house because her son was missing. According to Rogers, the children are now staying with family members. "The children who were interviewed talked about the incidents, which went back several years". Rogers said she works the graveyard shift as an EKG technician at a heart monitoring company and her husband is a tattoo artist.

"We're in the process of making the decisions to file the appropriate charges", she said.
