Withdrawal from nuclear deal will likely mean war — UN Secretary General

A close up shot shows Iran's various Rial banknotes bearing a portrait of Iran's late founder of Islamic Republic Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini next to United States one Dollar bills bearing a portrait of first US President George Washington at a currenc

European allies France, the United Kingdom and Germany meanwhile have agreed that pursuing the current nuclear deal with Iran is the best way to stop it developing nuclear weapons.

Also on Wednesday, China urged all sides to stick to the landmark deal that the United States and Israel have threatened to kill.

"Bluster or threats won't get the US a new deal, particularly as it is not honoring the deal it has already made", Zarif concluded.

"Iran will not renegotiate what was agreed years ago and has been implemented", Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a video message posted on YouTube. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi called Netanyahu's speech "a childish and ridiculous show,"an Iranian news agency reported".

Several sources familiar with the negotiations said that if Trump pulls out, a question for the Europeans will be whether this would be the start of a much harder US line toward Iran, including military confrontation.

There was no immediate response from Washington. He said Israeli intelligence had obtained thousands of files of Iran's atomic archives from what looked like "a dilapidated warehouse" in Tehran.

The Islamic republic has always denied it sought a nuclear weapon, insisting its atomic programme was for civilian purposes.

Citing Iran's missile program and its role in Middle East conflicts, Trump has ridiculed the nuclear agreement reached under his predecessor as "flawed" and a "disaster".

Afghanistan describes attack on journalists as "a crime against press, humanity"
The Afghan National Army had fallen to just 85 percent of its authorized strength by the end of January, and the Afghan National Police to 93 percent.

Ali Akbar Velayati said on Iran's state television website, "If the United States withdraws from the nuclear deal, then we will not stay in it". He questioned whether inspection could adequately keep Iran from developing weapons in the future. "But the reality is the prime minister's presentation really didn't provide much new evidence".

The pact between Iran and six major powers - Britain, China, France, Germany, Russia and the United States - was among former U.S. president Barack Obama's signature foreign policies but has been described by Trump as "one of the worst deals I have ever witnessed".

Furthermore, monitors from the IAEA have been able to carry out snap inspections at Iranian nuclear sites.

U.S. President Donald Trump has been a strong critic of the agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), under which Tehran agreed to limit its nuclear program in exchange for sanctions relief. The next deadline is May 12.

"What this means is the deal was not constructed on a foundation of good faith or transparency", Pompeo said. It's based on Iranian lies and Iranian deception. Thus, Iran is not in violation of JCPOA, they said.

"We should not scrap it unless we have a good alternative", he said.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said Netanyahu's speech "underlines the importance" of maintaining the deal. "In contrast, the U.S. has consistently violated the agreement, especially by bullying others from doing business with Iran". "All activities linked to the development of a nuclear weapon are permanently banned by the agreement".

He has threatened to pull his nation out by May 12, despite intense lobbying from European leaders, while signaling that he might at some stage attempt to negotiate a tougher pact.
